Frequently Asked Questions

Let the Silverleaf Construction & Property Restoration team answer any questions you may have.

Do I Need A Permit Before Beginning A Remodeling Project?

As a general rule, the extent of your project is what determines if your project will require a permit. If you are swapping out like-for-like components of your bathroom, you don't need a permit. That means if you're changing out existing cabinets, flooring, counters for updated versions, no permit is necessary. However, if you start to change the actual layout or add on to the space, alter the location of a wall, etc. then your project will require a permit.

Will The Remodeling Process Be Really Dirty And Dusty?

That will be determined by two factors: the extent of the work being done and the remodeling contractor you call. However, the answer should be no, not really. Reputable construction professionals use techniques to minimize the dust level and don't leave materials and debris scattered about. We can promise the work we do will be as clean as possible.

Do We Need to Move Out While the Remodeling Takes Place?

In most cases, unless you're doing a whole-house remodel, there is no reason you would have to find other accommodations. However, if you want to avoid the possibility of noise or dust disrupting your quality of life, that's up to you. Some households with pets, small children, or seniors may want to but most of our jobs don't require this.
